Nscale is seeking a Senior Director of Operational Procurement to lead the OFCI procurement function across Construction, Engineering and Operations, shaping strategy, playbooks, and teams for durable, high-performance infrastructure. This role bridges multiple functions to optimize asset lifecycle and long-term performance.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years in procurement for data center or infrastructure settings, proven leadership, and strong negotiation and analytical skills to deliver

Qualifications

• 12+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain
• Experience in data center, mission-critical, construction, or infrastructure environments
• Proven ownership of OFCI or MEP equipment procurement
• Experience negotiating and administering capital/construction and operating/services contracts
• Proven people leadership
• Strong commercial and analytical capability across cost modeling and TCO
• Experience building procurement processes and governance in hyper-growth environments
• Excellent cross-functional influence and transparent communication

Responsibilities

• Embed operability, serviceability, and total cost of ownership into early-stage sourcing and technical specs.
• Standardize OFCI operating model and RACI for clear hand-offs between Construction and Operations.
• Secure asset-data continuity, warranty protection, and spare parts as facilities move to steady state.
• Execute global category strategies for OFCI equipment and long-lead plant.
• Use market intelligence to optimize make-vs-buy decisions and secure capacity.
• Structure and negotiate capital, construction, and facilities contracts including SLAs.
• Own change orders, back-charges, and renewals across the fleet.
• Establish a supplier performance framework with scorecards and QBRs.
• Mitigate supply risk with dual-sourcing and capacity reservations.
• Build and mentor a procurement team with scalable governance.
• Drive alignment on cost savings, cash flow, and capacity objectives.
