Job summary

PTC Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Clinical Development to guide strategic clinical activities across phases of drug development.

You will lead CDP design, ensure GCP compliance, and manage external partnerships while collaborating with research, regulatory, and commercial teams. This role requires MD with 5+ years in clinical drug development, strong leadership, and the ability to travel internationally.

Qualifications

• MD degree with at least 5 years in clinical drug development.
• Strong leadership in multi-country programs and cross-functional teams.
• In-depth knowledge of early- and late-phase drug development and regulatory processes.
• Excellent communication, influencing without direct authority, and team mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Leads the global clinical development strategy for their indication/therapeutic area.
• Leads the design of CDPs to demonstrate clinical/medical benefit and achieve development objectives.
• Manages external partners (CROs, vendors, consultants) and monitors budgets.
• Medically responsible for clinical studies.
• Facilitates cross-functional collaboration to support CDPs, regulatory submissions and development goals.
• Ensures adherence to GCP and regulatory standards.
• Represents the Clinical Development team in meetings with external collaborators.
• Supports assessment of in-licensing candidates in the area of expertise.
• May manage, coach and mentor direct reports.
