Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Five+ years of progressively responsible accounting/financial management experience.
• Demonstrated experience with general ledger accounting and financial reporting, as well as account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Supervisory or management experience.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting, as well as internal controls.
• Knowledge of governmental or higher education accounting principles and practices.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it effectively to diverse audiences.
• Ability to review financial transactions and reports for accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision to Financial Services staff and drive professional development.
• Ensure accurate financial records and timely reporting in compliance with laws, standards, and policies.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and payment processing.
• Assist with financial statements and supporting schedules for College and Foundation.
• Coordinate audits and respond to auditors’ requests.
• Maintain internal controls and develop/update financial policies and procedures.
• Monitor budgets and financial performance and provide strategic financial insights to leadership.
