Job summary

Sandburg in Galesburg, IL is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage the Carl Sandburg College Foundation’s financial processes, including investments, grants, and reporting.

You will serve as the system administrator for Raiser's Edge and related gift processing systems, lead module updates, and support annual audits while maintaining GAAP, GASB, and ICCB compliance. Solid Excel and ERP experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance required.
• Two years of related fund accounting, GL, or financial reporting experience required.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with ERP systems (Ellucian/Colleague) preferred.
• Spanish or French proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Foundation financial processes including revenue, investments, AR, interfunds, and reporting.
• Serve as system administrator for Foundation financial systems (Raiser's Edge).
• Lead updates, patches, and new module implementations for systems.
• Manage construction project accounting and closeout activities.
• Record investment activity and reconcile related accounts monthly.
• Provide cash management oversight and monitor investment returns.
• Support annual Foundation audit preparations with schedules and docs.
• Prepare journal entries and monthly financial reports.
• Monitor revenues and expenditures for various funds.
• Provide data and support to College departments.
