Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Senior Director to lead research in the BTI group, shaping insights for technology leaders worldwide. You will guide engineering research, analyze market trends, and advise executives through webinars, client meetings, and Gartner events.

You will author pragmatic content, develop best practices, and lead a team of analysts to deliver credible research that informs strategic decisions and client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
• Experience leading a software engineering organization with understanding of key challenges.
• Deep knowledge of software architecture principles for SaaS platforms.
• Up-to-date knowledge of AI development tools.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze and predict software engineering trends and innovations.
• Monitor the competitive landscape across software engineering tool vendors, solutions, and service providers.
• Create research reports, white papers, and thought leadership content with actionable insights.
• Develop frameworks, methodologies, and best practices for implementing solutions.
• Advise senior executives through webinars, presentations and client meetings.
• Deliver high-value presentations at Gartner events and conferences.
• Build external credibility to represent Gartner research.
• Provide sales support to drive client engagement.
• Collaborate with the Gartner research community on ideation and discussion.
• Perform in-depth analysis to identify client barriers and drive strategy.
• Establish research positions across a team of analysts.
