Job summary

symplr is seeking a Senior Director, Engineering FP&A to act as the executive finance partner for the Technology/R&D organization, building the financial operating system for engineering investment, workforce planning, capitalization discipline, productivity, and technology cost structure.

The role partners with the CTO, Engineering leadership, Product & Professional Services FP&A, Accounting, HR, Procurement, and Corporate FP&A to translate strategy, roadmap commitments, capacity, and cost

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive finance experience in Engineering/Tech or similar
• Experience partnering with senior executives
• Experience in PE-backed, growth or healthcare tech environments preferred
• Experience building or restructuring FP&A processes

Responsibilities

• Partner with Engineering/R&D leadership to translate priorities into financial plans.
• Maintain monthly CTO/Engineering financial review materials and variance narratives.
• Own Engineering/R&D planning, forecasting, and performance management.
• Own R&D capitalization and OpEx/CapEx discipline.
• Develop and manage the Engineering FP&A execution layer.
• Lead workforce model by team, location, and hiring status.
