Caraway Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an Associate Director to lead governance, risk, and compliance for data, data products, and digital solutions.

This role will embed practical controls, partner across teams, and drive responsible AI practices to ensure privacy, transparency, and regulatory alignment. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in data governance, privacy, and AI governance within regulated environments, and will develop policies, training, and guidance to promote adoption

Qualifications

• Six or more years in data governance, compliance, privacy, or AI governance.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with data governance, data products, and AI-enabled programs.
• Ability to develop policies, standards, SOPs, and governance processes.
• Knowledge of data management practices, including data quality and metadata.
• Ability to identify and manage governance, compliance, privacy, and risk issues.
• Strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to translate governance requirements into scalable solutions.
• Healthcare compliance laws and guidelines understanding.
• Experience delivering training and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Lead governance and compliance for data products and digital solutions across lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain policies, standards, guidance, and controls.
• Partner with stakeholders to embed governance into delivery.
• Support responsible AI with transparency and oversight.
• Assess risks, track remediation, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide training to promote governance awareness.
• Support data quality, stewardship, metadata, and documentation.
• Contribute to governance reporting and audit readiness.
