Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Director-level engineering leader for data center/design center initiatives. The role is owner-side, highly technical, and will act as a primary authority on engineering and design decisions.

You will partner with clients, design-build partners, engineering firms, and consultants, shaping technical direction and ensuring alignment with deployment objectives across multiple AI data center projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture, construction management, or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience supporting data center, mission-critical, industrial, energy, utility, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering and design activities.
• Strong understanding of site development, utility infrastructure, and integrated facility design.
• Experience managing engineering consultants and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to review engineering drawings, technical reports, and infrastructure studies.
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as one of the company’s primary engineering and design authorities.
• Represent the company in technical/design conversations with clients, tenants, design-build partners, engineering firms, and outside consultants.
• Work closely with the projects/construction organization with joint ownership of certain technical decisions.
• Build the function alongside a growing team, rather than inheriting an established organization.
• Coordinate civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, utility, and network infrastructure disciplines.
• Manage external engineering and design consultants and review deliverables.
• Develop and enforce Basis of Design (BoD) standards and conduct constructability reviews.
