Job summary

McDonald's is seeking a Senior Director of Consumer Data Engineering to lead vision and execution of data engineering across the Consumer domain. You will build and scale a high-performing team delivering reliable, secure data platforms powering customer analytics, AI, and personalized experiences across global markets.

The role requires executive leadership, cross-functional partnership, and strong focus on data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance as part of a broad data strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or related tech disciplines.
• 8+ years leading large-scale engineering organizations with managers and senior leaders.
• Proven experience building enterprise data strategies for customer analytics, marketing activation, personalization, and AI initiatives.
• Deep expertise in modern data platforms, data architecture, and data governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute data engineering strategy, roadmap, standards, and operating model for the Consumer domain.
• Lead a large, distributed engineering organization with focus on reliability, privacy, and scale.
• Drive modernization, insourcing, and production-grade data pipelines with certified semantic data layers.
• Partner with Marketing, Data Science, and Global Markets to enable data-driven decision making.
• Establish KPIs and governance to measure platform health, performance, and business impact.
