Job summary

Capital Impact Partners is seeking a Director of Community Development Underwriting to oversee the CDL underwriting team and manage the full lifecycle of new originations. You will guide workout analysis for existing borrowers, ensuring adherence to credit guidelines and risk appetite.

The role reports to the Head of Small Business and Community Development Credit within the Risk Team and requires strong leadership, deep underwriting expertise, and collaboration across CDL originations, credit,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business, finance or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of advanced commercial and community development lending underwriting and related experience.
• Experience leading teams and managing personnel for loan underwriting.
• Strong analytical, risk management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of underwriters to assess complex CDL transactions from screening to closing.
• Provide recommendations on structure, risk, covenants and reserves.
• Coordinate with CDL originations, credit, portfolio and special assets on underwriting guidance.
• Present underwriting judgments and mitigate risks in senior management discussions.
• Ensure compliance with policies, guidelines, and applicable laws.
