Job summary

Momentus Capital seeks a Director of Community Development Underwriting to lead a team underwriting complex CDL transactions across origination, workout and portfolio management. You will deliver advanced analytical judgments, collaborate across risk and originations teams, and ensure adherence to underwriting guidelines.

You will report to the Head of Small Business and Community Development Credit within the Risk Team and drive process improvements, staff development, and external coordination

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in business or public administration, finance or related field.
• 10 years of advanced commercial and community development lending underwriting experience.
• Experience leading direct reports and building teams.
• Strong underwriting, credit risk management and impact area expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of underwriters to assess complex CDL transactions from screening to closing.
• Provide recommendations on structure, risk, and mitigants; escalate as needed.
• Collaborate with CDL originations, credit, portfolio and special assets teams.
• Ensure compliance with policies; manage workflow and deadlines for closings.
• Participate in pipeline meetings and provide technical underwriting guidance.
• Support data integrity and process improvements with technology teams.
