Job summary

Baylor Genetics is seeking a Senior Director of Software Engineering to lead the Bioinformatics Software Engineering team and drive strategy, architecture, delivery, and operational support of production-grade software platforms enabling clinical genomic diagnostics.

The leader will build and guide an high-performing software organization supporting clinical laboratory, bioinformatics, data, and reporting operations.

Qualifications

• Requires 12+ years software engineering or data platforms experience.
• 7+ years leading software teams, including managers or technical leads.
• Strong knowledge of lifecycle practices, quality, compliance, and security in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the software engineering vision, roadmap, and operating model.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing team of software and bioinformatics engineers.
• Oversee design, development, deployment, and support of production-grade platforms for clinical genomics.
• Collaborate with R&D, quality, operations, product, and executives to translate needs into roadmaps and delivery plans.
