Job summary

IPSY is seeking a Director, Assistant General Counsel to partner with marketing, product, and technology teams across the business. You will own a broad portfolio including consumer protection, IP, privacy, and commercial contracts, shaping scalable legal processes and playbooks while enabling rapid decision-making.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active bar membership in good standing.
• 10+ years of legal experience in law firm and in-house roles.
• Deep knowledge of consumer protection, advertising, and subscription commerce.
• Experience managing outside counsel and legal spend.
• Excellent judgment, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to partner with business teams and move quickly.
• Experience with IP, privacy, and commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Own the legal review of marketing content for compliance.
• Advise on subscription commerce law and FTC/state rules.
• Lead influencer program contracts and governance.
• Protect IP via trademarks, licensing, and clearance.
• Advise on FDA requirements for product assortment.
• Lead privacy compliance across data practices.
• Provide governance for AI initiatives.
• Support IPSY Mexico regulatory matters as the business grows.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts.
• Manage outside counsel relationships and budgets.
