Job summary

LaunchDarkly is seeking a Senior Director, Assistant Controller to lead and scale the global accounting organization during the next growth phase. This role partners across Revenue, Finance, Legal, HR, IT, and executives to build a best-in-class function with strong controls and business enablement.

The candidate will own core controllership activities, including close, financial reporting, technical accounting, and control environment oversight, while driving automation and process improvements

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive accounting experience in multi-entity environments.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, foreign currency accounting, internal controls and financial reporting.
• Hands-on systems orientation with ERP workflows, reporting, and automation.
• Experience leading teams through growth, scale, and SOX readiness.

Responsibilities

• Lead global accounting function and controllership roadmap.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close, reconciliations, and flux analysis.
• Prepare equity rollforward and cash flow statements.
• Direct G/L, accounts payable, payroll, and equity administration.
• Manage intercompany and international accounting with third-party partners.
• Serve as US GAAP/IFRS SME and issue technical accounting memos.
• Lead SOX readiness, internal controls, and external audit coordination.
• Design scalable processes and AI automation for close and reporting.
• Oversee ERP enhancements, integrations, and reporting improvements.
• Develop KPIs and management reporting for visibility into close performance.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team.
