Group 1001 is a technology-driven group of insurance companies seeking a Lead Applications Developer to mentor a team of engineers and own a portfolio of applications. You will drive hands-on coding, code reviews, and prototyping to de-risk initiatives while ensuring architectural health and security posture.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional full-stack software development experience with progressive responsibility.
• Experience in financial services and/or insurance sector with domain knowledge.
• Proven ability to meet Lead Applications Developer technical bar across the full stack.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On Engineering: contribute production code on critical-path work and conduct code reviews.
• Product Ownership: accountable for portfolio applications, security, accessibility, and regulatory compliance.
• Architectural Fitness: own architectural health, DR posture, backups, and patching.
• Tooling and Access: ensure tooling access and manage provisioning with IT/Security.
• Staff Assignment: match developers to projects by skill and capacity.
• Day-to-Day People Management: 1:1s, performance reviews, compensation considerations.
• Developer Growth: mentorship and skill-gap resolution.
• Continuous Delivery Improvement: improve cycle time, MTTR, and CI/CD health.
• M&A Integration: lead technical assessment and re-platforming of acquired stacks.
• Standards and Governance: enforce coding standards and secure practices.
• Production Support: participate in on-call rotation and incident investigations.
