Job summary

Cengage Group's ed2go division seeks a Senior Director, Portfolio & Content to lead portfolio management and content development, ensuring profitable growth across 1,000+ online programs. You will partner with the GM and leadership to align priorities with market opportunities, drive optimization, and enable AI-enabled transformation across learning products.

This role requires strong financial acumen, senior leadership experience, and a track record of delivering revenue growth in education

Qualifications

Strong business and financial competence using market, customer, operational, and financial data.
Proven ability to develop and complete portfolio strategies that drive growth.
Experience leading other leaders and multi-layer organizations.
Outstanding communication skills to translate complex information into decisions.
Experience leading/managing product portfolios exceeding $100M/year in revenue.
Experience leading large teams (40+ employees).
Experience developing and launching growth strategies that produce $5M-$10M in first 3 years.
Experience leading in high-growth organizations.
Experience leveraging products into market adjacencies.

Responsibilities

Lead the Portfolio Management team (online course product managers) and the content development team (learning design, media design, and production management) who collectively own our online course catalog of more than 1,000 programs.
Build insight into portfolio performance, market dynamics, customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
Identify and prioritize opportunities for new programs, category expansion, content modernization, partnerships, and portfolio optimization.
Establish clear investment frameworks that enable disciplined decisions about where ed2go should build, buy, partner, expand, modernize, or exit.
Guide portfolio lifecycle management, balancing investment in new growth with optimization and maintenance of the existing catalog.
Use financial, market, customer, and operational data to evaluate portfolio performance and inform investment decisions.
Partner with Finance and business leadership to ensure portfolio decisions support sustained revenue growth, margin expansion, and long-term value creation.
Establish and coordinate portfolio performance mechanisms, operating rhythms, and reviews that provide access to results, risks, opportunities, and strategic tradeoffs.
