Nuveen, the investment management arm of TIAA, seeks an experienced Senior Director, Associate General Counsel to advise on asset management and private placements, including asset-backed securities. You will partner with internal clients across governance, real estate, tax, and corporate matters.

The role centers on private fixed income within Nuveen's Equities and Fixed Income division, requiring 5+ years (7+ preferred) and strong experience in restructurings, workouts, and bankruptcies.

Qualifications

• University degree preferred.
• 5+ years required; 7+ years preferred.
• Experience in private fixed income and asset-backed lending.

Responsabilités

• Provides hands-on counsel to management and supports the operations of the legal department.
• Represents and advocates for the organization in litigation, arbitration, mediation, or other disputes.
• Protects the organization's rights in contract negotiations and settlements.
• Negotiates and approves legal contracts, policies, and other documents.
• Identifies, evaluates, and addresses issues of legal risk.
• Researches and interprets laws and regulations; informs management of changes.
• Liaises with external counsel on complex issues.
