Job summary

UC Santa Cruz Dining is seeking a Senior Food Service Manager to oversee residential dining facilities, catering, bakery and retail operations. You will supervise staff, ensure quality service and food, and act as PIC in the Unit Manager's absence. Work includes training, scheduling, safety and cost control.

The role requires strong leadership, culinary production skills, and experience with budgeting, labor management and customer service in a university dining setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in management of food service operations in hotel, restaurant, retail or catering.
• Strong supervision, leadership and personnel management skills.
• Proven ability to recruit, hire, train and manage a diverse staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee dining hall, bakery or catering operations ensuring quality and service.
• Lead HR activities including scheduling, coaching and performance reviews.
• Manage budgets, labor costs and inventory; ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Collaborate with campus units to support events and guest service.
