Job summary
UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Senior Food Service Manager to oversee operational management of residential dining facilities, catering, bakery or retail locations. You will act as PIC in absence of Unit Manager and lead a team to deliver quality food and service to students, faculty, and guests.
The role requires strong management experience in food service, HR responsibilities, budgeting, cost control, and adherence to safety standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of strong management experience in food service operations.
- Experience with budgeting, labor, and cost control.
- Ability to recruit, supervise, and develop staff.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily food service operations across dining facilities.
- Lead human resources activities including scheduling, training, and performance discussions.
- Monitor budgets, labor costs, and inventory to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Collaborate with CHES and Dining Services on programs and events.
