Job summary

Cascades of Bend is seeking a Server (Dining Services Associate) to create a safe, comfortable dining experience for our seniors. You will prepare dining areas, take resident requests, and deliver meals with warmth and professionalism.

The role requires first aid and food handling certifications, strong communication, reliability, and flexibility for evenings and weekends. Competitive wages range from $18 to $20 per hour, with full and part-time shifts available.

Qualifications

• Must have current first aid certification and a current food handler’s or ServSafe certification.
• Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner.
• Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families.
• Demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support by treating others with dignity and respect.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to problem solve.
• Ownership attitude who is able to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day.
• Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time.
• Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dining room for all meals, completing the pre-meal procedures.
• Fill resident food requests, transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to resident’s units.
• Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff.
• Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and have knowledge of their ingredients, prior to meal service.
• Demonstrate organizational skills around time management.
• Ability to understand menus and answer questions that might arise.
• Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room.
• Actively participates as a member of a team and is committed to working toward goals set by management.
• Promote the mission, values and beliefs of Cascade Living.
