Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Current Food Handler’s card.
• Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.
• Maintains clean, neat, safe environment for residents, staff and visitors.
• Relates positively and communicates with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
• Compassion and interest in working with the senior population.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays; overtime may be required.
• Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Apportions and places food servings on plates and trays according to menu diet.
• Relays orders to the kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
• Observes diners to anticipate needs and to determine when a meal is completed.
• Prepares utensils, napkins, and condiments on trays.
• Maintains a clean dining room and equipment, changing linens as needed.
• Clears and resets tables after each course.
• Delivers prompt and courteous service.
• Washes and puts away dishes as needed.
• Attends required meetings and trainings; stays current on tasks.
