Job summary

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Compassion for working with the senior population.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Pass a criminal background check and fingerprint check.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and appliances.
• Maintain mandatory health requirements per state regulations.
• Maintain a clean, neat, safe environment for residents and staff.
• Relate positively and communicate with residents, families, staff and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Read production orders and menu cards to determine items to place on trays.
• Place food servings on plates and trays according to diet lists.
• Relay orders to the kitchen and serve courses from kitchen/service bars.
• Observe diners to anticipate needs and complete meals.
• Prepare utensils, napkins and condiments on trays.
• Ensure ingredients are adjusted for special diets as needed.
• Maintain and tidy the dining station and service areas.
• Assist residents to dining areas and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Attend required meetings and trainings and stay current on tasks.
• Washes and puts away dishes as needed.
