Job summary

Yancey House is seeking a friendly Dietetic Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious meals for residents. You will assist with meal preparation, serving, and maintaining a clean kitchen and dining area, while upholding food safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma, are dependable, and enjoy working with seniors. Team collaboration and strong communication are essential to ensure a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Provide meal assistance to residents during meal setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Follow all food safety protocols including storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, notify Dietary Manager of shortages or needs.
• Work closely with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Assist in fulfilling residents' special dietary requests and preferences during meals.
