Yancey House is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our culinary team, providing nutritious meals and compassionate support for residents. You will help prepare and serve meals, maintain cleanliness, and ensure safe food handling in a collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes following dietary plans, engaging residents with a positive dining experience, and participating in inventory and teamwork to support high-quality elder care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Previous experience in a food service role (preferred, but not required).
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: prepare, portion, and serve meals per dietary plans and requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: maintain kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment.
• Resident support: assist with meal setup, serving, and positive dining experience.
• Food safety: follow protocols for storage, handling, and sanitation.
• Inventory support: assist in receiving, storing, and noting shortages.
• Team collaboration: work with dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident engagement: fulfill special dietary requests and respect individual preferences.
