Job summary

Caterpillar Irving, TX is seeking a Principal Digital Twin Engineer to lead high-fidelity digital twins for machines, jobsites, and end-to-end workflows, enabling automation and robotics. You will translate business needs into simulation solutions and drive a multi-year roadmap with cross-functional teams.

The role requires deep expertise in system-level simulation, Omniverse, and modeling ecosystems, with 10+ years in simulation/robotics. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or related discipline, plus 10+ years in simulation/robotics.
• Demonstrated expertise in digital twins and system-level simulation for robotics or construction automation.
• Strong communication and ability to translate complex tech to business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Define long-term vision for simulation supporting automation and robotics.
• Create multi-year roadmaps for a digital twin strategy across machines and worksites.
• Oversee model validation and governance, ensuring alignment with real data.
• Collaborate with engineering, autonomy, controls, software, product teams and data groups.
• Evaluate technologies and recommend adoption paths for digital twin ecosystems.
