Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a senior simulation software engineer to design, develop, and optimize large-scale robotic warehouse simulation platforms. You will work on faster-than-real-time, multi-fidelity environments supporting design, testing, and deployment of automated systems.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with simulation/robotics.
• Strong programming in C++ and Python, ROS2 expertise.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation systems and virtual environments for robotic warehouse automation.
• Build scalable, faster-than-real-time simulation environments for engineering analysis and validation.
• Develop multi-fidelity simulation capabilities across component, robot, fleet, and system levels.
• Identify gaps in tools and drive performance, scalability, and usability improvements.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, cloud, QA, and product teams to align simulation with product needs.
• Provide technical leadership, risk analysis, and roadmapping insights to leadership.
• Mentor engineers, share best practices, and document architectures and usage guides.
