Job summary

Merck & Co. in Rahway, NJ, is seeking an Associate Director, Digital Operations to shift from traditional BI to a modern data foundation. You will design scalable data pipelines, build agentic AI workflows, and develop custom WebApps to support clinical and commercial supply operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with supply chain, QA, and manufacturing stakeholders, using Databricks, Python, React/Streamlit, and GitHub for robust development and governance.

Qualifications

• Core technical stack: Python and advanced SQL.
• Deep Databricks Lakehouse experience with Delta Lake and Unity Catalog for governance.
• Proven ability to build custom data products and rapid-prototype fronts (Streamlit/React).
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP/manufacturing data sources for supply chain data.
• Strong business-analysis skills translating stakeholder needs into technical roadmaps.
• Awareness of Agentic AI, LLMs, and AI agents in workflows.
• Agile/Scrum experience with Jira Cloud and Confluence for docs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures.
• Develop custom WebApps to support operations and data interaction.
• Create agentic AI workflows and ML models to automate decisions.
• Collaborate with data architects to ensure scalable data models.
• Document processes, code, data models, and provide user training.
