True North Consultants, Inc. in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware to join our cutting-edge DoD sensing technology team.

You will lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware, multi-layer PCBs, and FPGA solutions on Xilinx platforms. Responsibilities include hardware integration, testing, and production support, plus developing Python and Bash scripts to automate workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on lab experience with test equipment.
• U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on modern Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition systems, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate engineering workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
