Job summary

CesiumAstro, a leader in space-grade communication systems, seeks a Senior Engineering Manager for Digital & Mixed-Signal Hardware to guide a growing team of engineers across Austin and Westminster. You will oversee architecture, design reviews, and production readiness while building scalable hardware platforms.

This is a hands-off management role focusing on mentorship, standards, and cross-site collaboration to deliver high-performance electronics for SDRs, space computing, and phased-array

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
• Minimum of 7 years of direct digital or mixed-signal hardware engineering experience; aerospace background preferred.
• Strong understanding of signal integrity and timing.
• Experience supporting DFM/DFT and transition from development to production.
• Proficiency with high-speed simulation and analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain technical integrity and engineering excellence for board-level digital and mixed-signal electronics development across the company.
• Establish, mature, and scale engineer-friendly digital hardware development processes, including high-speed interface design guidelines, SI simulations, and schematic/layout standards.
• Provide detailed technical reviews and mentorship through architecture and design reviews, engaging SME across digital, RF, power, firmware, and mechanical disciplines.
• Occasionally contribute directly to board-level digital and mixed-signal designs to close gaps on high-risk programs.
• Lead or support complex debug efforts involving high-speed interfaces and large FPGA/processor implementations.
• Drive disciplined handoff from engineering to manufacturing with manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and test teams.
• Ensure designs meet aerospace-quality, reliability, and scalability requirements.
