Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in South Plainfield, NJ is seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and opportunities for merit increases.

Work hours are first shift with a 11:00 pm – 7:00 am schedule, Monday–Friday, with a strong emphasis on diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and safety. You will diagnose and repair heavy-duty diesel trucks, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and following Ryder guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred.
• Basic tools required for on-site work.
• Experience in mechanical repair of heavy-duty diesel engines.
• CDL Class A preferred; obtain CDL within 6 months if not currently held.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair on heavy-duty diesel vehicles.
• Diagnoses mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Completes preventive maintenance and detailed inspections with minimal supervision.
• Interacts with drivers to determine nature of the issue and conducts repairs.
