Penske in Garner, NC is seeking an experienced Technician I to maintain and repair trucks and trailers, performing preventive maintenance and diagnostics with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); ASE Certification and 608/609 preferred.
• Experience using all tools of the trade (including welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, and hand and power tools)

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing trucks and trailers to ensure safety and reliability.
• Performing preventive maintenance with minimal supervision.
• Diagnosing and repairing major components such as engines and transmissions; replacing assemblies as needed.
• Keeping work area clean and safe.
• Using Penske tools and technologies to log and complete repairs; basic vehicle diagnostics.
• Participating in Penske technician training to learn new skills.
