Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs and maintenance on our vehicle fleet to keep trucks safe and on the road. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with minimal direction, including training less experienced technicians.

You will handle roadside repairs, service according to maintenance schedules, and ensure all safety devices are functioning properly.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines.
• Advanced knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulics, diagnostics and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
• Performs services and repairs to fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or from driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIR).
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues and makes necessary repairs, or replacements.
• Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems or test repairs.
• Inspects, lubricates, and services vehicles and equipment.
• Completes adjustments, repairs, and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related components.
• Inspects and/or repairs vehicle support systems, such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
