Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of heavy trucks. You will diagnose, repair, and service complex diesel systems, perform road tests, and ensure safety standards are met across our operations in Cincinnati and surrounding areas.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of hands-on repair experience with heavy trucks, strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical and hydraulic systems, and the ability to train junior technicians.

Qualifications

• 5 years: Experience performing repair and maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engine vehicles, equipment, and related components.
• Advanced knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude for vehicle maintenance and repair.
• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, hydraulic systems, diagnostics and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or components.

Responsibilities

• Performs repairs and maintenance of fleet vehicles safely and in compliance with all regulations.
• Performs services and repairs to fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules or DVIR.
• Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical issues and makes necessary repairs or replacements.
• Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems or test repairs.
• Inspects, lubricates and services vehicles and equipment.
• Completes adjustments, repairs and component replacements to vehicles, equipment, and related components.
• Checks, fills and/or changes fluids and filters.
• Inspects and/or repairs vehicle support systems (electrical, air, brake).
• Identifies and repairs components and operating systems on vehicles/equipment.
• Performs roadside repairs and adjustments.
• Maintains accurate records (time, maintenance orders, parts usage).
• May travel for training or business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
