Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Savannah, GA to maintain and repair heavy duty vehicles on a second shift. You will diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues with state-of-the-art tools and support a safety-first, quality-driven shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required
• Demonstrated aptitude in mechanical repair including: routine maintenance, oil changes, brakes, tires
• Three (3) years or more relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; other certifications as required by location
• Must have 2+ years of experience with mechanical repairs on heavy/medium duty equipment
• Knowledge of PC basics; ability to drive Ryder vehicles; pass Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, road test and background checks

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard vehicle maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Completes inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Provides mentorship to Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
• Ensures compliance with safety, DOT, and MOT guidelines.
• Participates in service island support and other tasks as needed
