Job summary

Ryder in Savannah, Georgia is seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician to perform heavy-duty vehicle maintenance and complex diagnostics. Shifts are second shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with competitive hourly pay of $32.00 and a potential certification/quarterly bonus program.

Qualifications

• Mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine maintenance.
• Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with heavy- and medium-duty equipment.
• Valid CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer.
• Completes complex inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Replaces defective components as instructed.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint.
• Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
