Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in South Plainfield, NJ is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician for first shift (6:00 am–2:30 pm) with weekends off. You will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on heavy‑duty diesel trucks using state‑of‑the‑art tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or technical certification preferred; post-secondary degree or certs also considered.
• Basic tools required.
• 3+ years of relevant mechanical repair experience.
• CDL Class A preferred; must obtain CDL within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including diagnostics.
• Performs preventive maintenance and routine servicing.
• Replaces defective components with minimal supervision as required.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaints.
• Adheres to safety and compliance guidelines across operations.
