Job summary

PS Logistics in Birmingham, AL is seeking an experienced technician to diagnose, estimate, and repair highly complex electrical and mechanical systems on tractors. This hourly maintenance role requires working knowledge of diagnostic tools and safety procedures.

You will use SOPs and Fleetio, Cummins Insite, and related software to create repair orders, track parts and labor, and coordinate with drivers and operations. A two-year technical degree and 5+ years in the field are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two year technical degree, certificate, or diploma in diesel engines, electronics, or related systems.
• At least five years of verifiable experience in the industry.
• Experience diagnosing unusual electrical problems in any system including Electrical Control Module/Unit interfaces, wiring, sensors, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and repairs problems in engine, components, exhaust, and aftertreatment.“
• Uses diagnostic software or other methods to diagnose electrical and mechanical problems related to all systems.
• Utilizes Fleetio to create, track and complete work orders including labor hours and parts.
• Makes safety and value-based decisions on repairs and replacements.
• Communicates with drivers and operations on repair status and timelines.
