Job summary

Summit Line Construction is seeking an experienced mechanic to perform maintenance, repair, and diagnostics on vehicles and heavy equipment. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or with a team, and compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mechanic work.
• Experience with heavy diesel repair and maintenance.
• Experience with heavy & yellow iron equipment.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical repairs.
• Knowledge of fuel systems; both diesel and gas.
• Ability to perform electrical diagnostics using a scanner.
• Experience utilizing Microsoft Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• DOT Medical card Required
• CDL Class A (Preferred).
• Must pass mandatory drug and alcohol screenings.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repair: Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
• Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
• Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Overhaul and test machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Service and maintain braking systems, steering mechanisms, and other crucial vehicle systems.
