Job summary

Summit Drilling, LLC is seeking a diesel mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of vehicles and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and complex repairs on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.

You will report to the Shop Foreman and may mentor junior mechanics while upholding safety standards and a clean work area. CDL is required or willing to obtain; own tools are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of diesel shop experience.
• Must have your own mechanic tools.
• Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic systems.
• Class A CDL license (or willingness to obtain).
• DOT inspection experience.
• Proficiency with diagnostic software and tools for hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in repairing and maintaining vehicle systems.
• Commitment to safety and keeping a clean work environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to get to and from home office, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet vehicles and equipment using company-provided diagnostic software and specialized test equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Test and inspect hydraulic, electrical, brake, clutch, and cooling systems to identify and resolve malfunctions.
• Repair or replace key vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, transmissions, fuel components, engines, and electrical systems.
• Overhaul engines and engine components as needed.
• Use mechanic's hand tools and power equipment to remove, disassemble, repair, rebuild, or replace defective parts.
• Test operate vehicles or equipment and consult with the Shop Foreman regarding performance issues.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, detailing work performed.
• Respond to emergency service calls during and outside of normal working hours.
• Assist and train junior mechanics.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
