Job summary

SYSCO FOODS seeks a skilled Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a diverse fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency. The role involves preventive maintenance, diagnostic work, and complex repairs across engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.

The position offers 2nd and 3rd shifts with a $3.00/hr differential, a sign-on bonus up to $7,000, and extensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and a 401K. Tools are provided or reimbursed as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred, not required.
• Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent experience.
• ASE certifications & Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks are desirable.
• EPA 608/609 HVAC Refrigeration certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize safety and reliability.
• Conduct Annual inspections (FAI/CVI) on fleet vehicles per regulations.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specs (engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, etc.).
• Document work on work orders and follow company procedures.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist Fleet Manager as needed.
