Job summary

Jabil, a global electronics solutions provider, seeks a Diagnostics Technician to maintain and improve the Diagnostic department’s efficiencies. You will diagnose and repair PCB assemblies, interpret schematics, and support test engineering.

This role requires strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills, flexibility to travel to customer sites, and the ability to train junior staff while adhering to safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aid.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to component level electronic circuit boards with prior repair attempts, while minimizing Engineering and Component holds.
• Proficient use of electronic test and measurement equipment.
• Interpret assembly docs such as schematics, BOMs, EC documents, visuals, and testing tools.
• Assist Test Engineering in data evaluation to improve diagnosis efficiency.
• Understand and follow Jabil production requirements, policies, and procedures.
• Travel to customer sites for advanced diagnostic issues.
• Recommend diagnostic staffing levels and assist in recruiting.
• Train technicians on technical issues.
• Tackle complex technical assignments requiring judgment and initiative.
• Determine document methods and guide others on new assignments.
• Team member to hit Diagnostic department yield goals.
• Prepare reports and recommend solutions to technical problems.
• Adhere to safety/health rules and company security policy.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
