Job summary
Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to drive DFMA and assembly optimizations for next‑gen server and rack systems. You will lead DFMA reviews during EVT/DVT, improve first‑pass yield, and ensure smooth mass production transfer.
Strong collaboration with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers is essential. The position requires 8+ years in server manufacturing, experience with liquid cooling, and expertise in data handling, root-cause analysis, and 8D methodologies to deliver
Qualifications
- BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- 8+ years in server system integration or rack-level assembly.
- DFMA expert with proven optimization of yield.
- NPI experience guiding EVT/DVT hardware development.
- Liquid cooling experience with rack‑level systems (plus).
- Experience with leak/pressure testing on production lines (plus).
- Knowledge of liquid-loop controls (torque management, verification).
Responsibilities
- Lead EVT/DVT DFMA reviews to optimize server chassis and routing.
- Transport, disassemble, and analyze prototypes to drive improvements.
- Drive root-cause analysis for assembly defects using 8D methodology.
- Navigate MRP, BOM, and ECO systems to extract specs and records.
- Publish formal DFMA reports with photos to intranet.
- Maintain DFMA records and coordinate with IT to optimize tracking.
- Collaborate with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers for mass production.
- Evaluate cable and hose management for mass production readiness.
