Supermicro is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead DFMA initiatives for next-generation server and rack-level systems, driving manufacturability during EVT and DVT, and ensuring smooth transition to mass production. The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers, with focus on first-pass yield, root-cause analysis, and data/documentation.

Experience in liquid-cooled rack solutions is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS/MS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • 2–4 years of hands-on server system integration or rack-level assembly experience.
  • DFMA expertise leading reviews to optimize yield.
  • Strong background guiding products through EVT and DVT hardware development stages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead DFMA reviews during EVT/DVT to optimize server chassis and rack routing.
  • Teardown, disassemble, and analyze prototypes to drive design improvements.
  • Own yield and root-cause analysis; apply 8D to boost First Pass Yield.
  • Navigate MRP, BOM, and ECO systems to extract specs and assembly records.
  • Generate DFMA reports with photos and publish findings to intranet.
  • Maintain DFMA records and collaborate with IT to optimize tracking.
  • Partner with Thermal R&D, Quality, and Suppliers for mass production transition.
  • Evaluate cable and hose management for mass production readiness.
