Job summary

Edgewater Federal Solutions, Inc. seeks an experienced DevSecOps/Python Engineer to lead secure software delivery for a federal enterprise. The role combines senior technical leadership with hands-on engineering in Python automation, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD across GitLab/GitHub workflows.

The candidate will embed security throughout the SDLC, implement automation, and mentor teams. This remote position requires US citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required; ability to obtain Public Trust.
• 10+ years of software engineering/DevSecOps experience with senior leadership responsibilities.
• Expert Python development with FastAPI/Flask, REST, automation, testing, and secure coding practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize Git-based CI/CD pipelines for Python workloads.
• Integrate SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets scanning, and SBOM generation into delivery pipelines.
• Develop production-grade Python automation, APIs, services, and tooling.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning with Terraform and GitOps.
• Build secure container deployment patterns using Kubernetes/ECS and AWS controls.
• Lead secure design reviews, remediation, and incident analysis.
