Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior DevSecOps / Platform Engineer with strong AWS GovCloud and DoD experience to build and operate the Navy logistics and asset visibility platform.

You will design a PaaS across hybrid/multi-cloud, ensure security and reliability, collaborate with developers, Navy users, and Platform team, and implement CI/CD, Kubernetes, Helm, and automated hardening.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance or higher and DoD 8570/8140 baseline certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE).
• 5+ years of experience as a DevSecOps or Platform Engineer in DoD, federal, or highly regulated environments.
• Significant experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using AWS GovCloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on Kubernetes administration and custom Helm chart development (CKAD or CKA preferred).
• Strong background in RHEL system administration and scripting automated system/container hardening.
• Advanced proficiency building pipelines natively in GitLab, with experience migrations from Bitbucket.
• An automation-centric approach and a security-first mindset.
• Knowledge of ICAM protocols (SAML, OAuth2, OIDC) and proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines for deployment of applications.
• Assist in migrating legacy repositories/workflows from Bitbucket to GitLab.
• Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure behind apps across AWS GovCloud, edge, and Navy networks using Terraform and Ansible.
• Drive containerization efforts for mission-critical apps and manage Kubernetes clusters.
• Develop Helm charts and maintain backups/recovery testing with Velero.
• Implement automated security scanning in pipelines to maintain ATO status and support ICAM integration.
• Establish monitoring/alerting/reporting with Prometheus/Grafana across the platform.
• Oversee secrets management and automated key rotations to ensure security.
