PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to embed security into every stage of how we build, ship, and operate software. Qualifications

• 6–12 years of experience across DevOps, platform engineering, security engineering, or related fields, with ≥3 years in DevSecOps or cloud security in production.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms and embedding security tooling into delivery pipelines.
• Strong cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure, IAM, networking, encryption, logging, and monitoring.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and containers, including securing clusters and workloads at scale.
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) and at least one scripting language (Python, Go, Bash).
• Solid networking fundamentals and experience with TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, routing, firewalls, and tracing tools.
• Hands-on cloud networking experience (VPC/VNet design, load balancing, private connectivity, service mesh, zero-trust).
• Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Datadog) and telemetry for reliability and security.
• Knowledge of application security practices (OWASP Top 10, SCA/SDLC, secrets hygiene, supply chain risk).
• Experience with security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy, SonarQube, Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Falco).
• Clear communication skills to explain risk and trade-offs to engineers and leaders.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure CI/CD pipelines with SAST/DAST/SCA and image scanning.
• Automate AWS/Azure infrastructure with IaC and enforce security policies (OPA/Sentinel).
• Own container and orchestration security across Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement cloud security posture management and threat detection; drive remediation.
• Build secure secrets management and least-privilege access patterns.
• Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews early in development.
• Respond to security events and improve detection, alerting, and runbooks.
• Design and manage cloud networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, NAT, peering, private endpoints).
• Operate edge security (load balancers, API gateways, WAF, TLS/PKI).
• Implement GitOps delivery (Argo CD/Flux) with blue-green/canary and automated rollback.
• Develop observability (metrics, logs, traces) with defined SLOs and actionable alerts.
• Manage artifact repositories and SBOMs; ensure software supply-chain controls.
• Drive capacity planning, autoscaling, and cloud cost optimization with security.
• Champion PCI DSS/SOC 2 controls and automate evidence collection.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding and operational security practices.
