Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to embed security across build, ship, and run stages. You will design secure CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and guardrails for product teams, while improving reliability and security across the engineering org.

The role involves AWS/Azure, Kubernetes, IaC, and security tooling, with a focus on proactive risk remediation and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years in DevOps/platform/security engineering; at least 3 years in DevSecOps.
• Hands-on with CI/CD platforms and embedding security tooling into pipelines.
• Strong cloud experience with AWS and/or Azure, IAM, networking, encryption, logging, monitoring.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and containers; secure clusters at scale.
• IaC tools Terraform or CloudFormation; scripting in Python/Go/Bash.
• Solid networking fundamentals and troubleshooting tools.
• Experience with observability platforms (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, Datadog).
• Knowledge of application security (OWASP Top 10, secure SDLC).
• Experience with security scanning tools (Snyk, Trivy, SonarQube, Wiz).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated SAST/DAST/SCA.
• Harden and automate AWS and/or Azure infrastructure with IaC and policy enforcement.
• Own container security across Docker and Kubernetes, including image provenance and runtime protection.
• Implement cloud security posture management and threat detection with remediation.
• Manage secrets, identity, mTLS, and least-privilege access patterns.
• Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews with engineering early in lifecycle.
• Respond to security events and improve detection, alerts, and runbooks.
• Design cloud networking (VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, private endpoints) and hybrid connectivity.
• Operate edge security: load balancers, API gateways, WAF, TLS/PKI automation.
• Implement GitOps using Argo CD/Flux with Helm/Kustomize and progressive delivery.
