Job summary

PAR Technology Corporation is seeking a hands-on Senior DevOps Engineer to embed security into every stage of how we build, ship, and operate software. This remote role spans multiple states including Minnesota, reporting to the Director, DevOps.

You will design secure CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure, identify and remediate risk, and raise the security and reliability bar across the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 6-12 years of experience across DevOps, platform engineering, or security engineering with at least 3 years in DevSecOps.
• Hands-on with CI/CD platforms and embedding security tooling into pipelines.
• Strong cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure, IAM, networking, encryption, logging, monitoring.
• Production experience with Kubernetes and containers, securing clusters and workloads at scale.
• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform or CloudFormation) and scripting languages (Python/Go/Bash).
• Solid networking fundamentals and cloud networking experience (VPC, load balancing, private connectivity).
• Experience with observability platforms and telemetry to improve reliability and security.
• Knowledge of OWASP Top 10, software supply chain risk, secrets hygiene, and secure SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated SAST/DAST/SCA and secret scanning.
• Harden and automate AWS/Azure infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code with policy enforcement.
• Own container security across Docker/Kubernetes, including image provenance and runtime protection.
• Implement cloud security posture management, vulnerability detection, and remediation collaboration.
• Build secure secrets management, identity, service mesh mTLS, and least-privilege access.
• Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews with product engineering early in development.
• Respond to security events and improve detection, alerting, and runbooks after incidents.
• Design and manage cloud networking (VPC/VNet, routing, private endpoints, connectivity).
• Operate edge security (load balancers, WAF, TLS, DNS, DDoS protection) and PKI automation.
• Implement GitOps with Argo CD/Flux, progressive delivery, and automated rollback.
• Build observability capabilities with metrics, logs, traces, and actionable alerts.
• Manage artifact repositories and SBOMs with provenance tooling like Sigstore/Cosign.
• Drive capacity planning, autoscaling, and cost optimization while maintaining security.
• Champion PCI DSS/SOC 2 controls and automate evidence collection.
• Mentor engineers on secure coding and operational security practices.
