Job summary

Protective is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Platform Engineer to build, operate, and improve enterprise platforms enabling teams to deliver software securely and reliably. You will partner across GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Actions, Harness CI/CD, and JFrog Artifactory, guiding governance, security, and compliance at scale.

You will define standards, onboard repositories, and evolve reusable templates while supporting on-call rotations and incident response to ensure platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps Platform engineering or related tech role supporting enterprise-scale engineering platforms or shared developer services.
• Experience with GitHub Enterprise Cloud, Azure DevOps, or similar source control platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and hands-on automation for build, test, release, or deployment.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Harness CI/CD, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Jenkins, or similar automation platforms.
• Knowledge of artifact repositories or package management platforms such as JFrog Artifactory, Harness Artifact Registry, GitHub Packages, Azure Container Registry, or similar tools.
• Scripting/automation using YAML, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or Bicep.
• Understanding of IAM concepts including RBAC, SSO, service accounts, and least-privilege access.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, influence direction, and communicate with technical/non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring mindset to help teams adopt platform patterns.

Responsibilities

• Support and administer enterprise DevOps Platform, including GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Copilot, GitHub Actions or Harness CI/CD, JFrog Artifactory or Harness Artifact Registry.
• Define and improve enterprise standards for repositories, CI/CD workflows, artifact management, access controls, and platform governance.
• Define and support enterprise branching strategies, repository standards, branch protection rules, and PR governance patterns for secure software delivery.
• Partner with application teams to onboard new repositories, pipelines, automation patterns, and developer tools.
• Design and evolve reusable workflow templates to reduce duplication and accelerate adoption of engineering patterns.
• Support secure software delivery practices including branch protection, secrets management, audit logging, and access reviews.
• Monitor platform usage, reliability, and performance; lead incident response and root-cause analysis.
• Develop automation using YAML, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or similar; create documentation and runbooks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to balance developer enablement, reliability, security, and compliance.
• Participate in on-call rotation for DevOps Platform services.
