Job summary

Phoenix Operations Group seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to support a mission-focused environment at Fort Meade, MD. The role emphasizes cloud infrastructure, containerized runtimes, automation, and CI/CD across Linux systems.

You will implement scalable deployments, work with AWS services including EKS, and collaborate with development teams to improve reliability. The ideal candidate has extensive DevOps experience, strong scripting skills in Python/Bash/Go, and the ability to obtain DoD

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
• 9+ years of relevant DevOps experience or 7+ with a Master’s degree; or 13+ with HS diploma.
• Strong Kubernetes and AWS experience including EKS, EC2, S3, and Lambda.
• In-depth IaC and configuration management with Terraform and Ansible.
• Hands-on scripting with Python, Bash, or Go.
• Experience with Git and modern deployment tools.
• DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification or ability to obtain it.
• Onsite work at Fort Meade, MD five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud infra in AWS with emphasis on EKS.
• Support on‑prem, edge, and portable infrastructure environments.
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Kubernetes-based containers.
• Collaborate with software teams to integrate apps into infra.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot performance issues.
• Maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration tooling (Terraform, Ansible).
• Support CI/CD and automated software deployment processes.
• Administer Linux systems and troubleshoot as needed.
• Develop automation tooling using Python, Bash, or Go.
• Evaluate new technologies and propose improvements.
• Support evolving technical and operational mission needs.
